Washington, D.C. DC United defeated Toronto FC 1-0 tonight in the second game of their three game set in the Texas Pro Soccer Festival in San Antonio, Texas. United defeated Chivas USA 2-1 on Wednesday night behind goals from Luciano Emilio (assisted by Marcelo Gallardo) and a late game winner from substitute Franco Niell to get their tournament off to a good start.

United trialist Josh Gardner scored in the 84th minute for the game winner on Friday evening. Depending on the late game between Houston and Chivas USA, United may have an opportunity to win the Festival with a draw on Sunday night against Houston should the Dynamo lose or draw with Chivas USA late Friday.

With Head Coach Tom Soehn employing his anticipated starting lineup on Wednesday against Chivas USA, Soehn most likely went with a mostly reserve lineup tonight against Toronto FC and will probably do so on Sunday as well ahead of their Wednesday night matchup with Harbor View in Jamaica in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

DC United hosts the return leg on Tuesday March 18th at 7:30 pm at RFK Stadium. Total goals will decide the tie between the two teams. Away goals are not enforced in this competition. If tied after two matches, they will go to two 15 minute overtime periods followed by a penalty kick shootout if no winner is revealed at the end of extra time.
